DOM Kennedy brings LA to the Chi
Young LA emcee in position to bring the west coast back
Chicago, IL - July 24, 2010 - Broken Chainz Entertainment in collaboration with LAX Paperboys has put together an amazing show, headlining DOM Kennedy at Subterranean, 2011 W. North Ave. Chicago, IL 60647, on August 14, 2010. This show is for ages 17 and up, doors open at 10pm, and tickets are only $12. The show will also feature a few of Chicago’s best up and coming emcees including, Rockie Fresh, Vic Mensa, Pennjamin Bannekar, and one of Cleveland’s most popular hip-hip groups, KEYEL.
Since the golden age of Tupac, Snoop Dogg, and Death Row Records, the west coast has never truly regained its prominence in hip-hop. A popular song from a west coast artist may spring up the charts for a brief time period, but the movement that they once enjoyed, has yet to been seen again. Leimert Park’s own, DOM Kennedy, has what it takes to change all of that.
DOM Kennedy graced the streets of Los Angeles in 2008 with the release of his debut project, titled 25th Hour. After receiving local and nationwide praise, DOM followed up in the spring of 2009 with the independent release of FutureStreet/DrugSounds, an all-original collection that seized the attention of major labels, blogs, and hip hop fans worldwide. Since then DOM’s brand has surged to a nationwide. DOM released his biggest project to date, From The Westside With Love, in March 2010. Collecting over 75k total downloads, From The Westside With Love gained praise from major hip-hop publications including XXL, Complex, AllHipHop.com and more. DOM has performed at the 2010 Paid Dues, SXSW music festival, A3C showcase, and countless venues across the U.S. The young emcee has been endorsed by many including, Taz Arnold of SA-RA, John Monopoly, Rick Ross, Murs, Don Cannon, amongst others. His name has begun to surface as hip-hop’s next superstar.
Broken Chainz Entertainment is known as one of the best up and coming production companies in the Midwest, having just produced the theme song for the LFL’s Philadelphia Passion, and they have a track on the highly anticipated mixtape The Measure by L.E. for the Uncool. LAX Paperboys.com is one of the most popular blogs on the west coast. The blog supports the LAx Creative Agency, which is a creative design agency that specializes in creative consulting, branding and brand management.
