Pop singer-songwriter Jobob Taeleifi nominated for Hawaii Music Award

Pop singer-songwriter Jobob Taeleifi’s song “Heartbreak Queen” has been nominated for a Hawaii Music Award in the Singles Category. “Heartbreak Queen” is the first single release from the 18-year-old artist’s self-titled debut solo CD Jobob Taeleifi, recorded with producer Ebiut Cervantes. The CD features all original material (two songs co-written/arranged with Cervantes).

“Heartbreak Queen” is currently playing on over 25 radio stations across the U.S. placing it on the Mediabase pop charts. The song also charted at #3 on TweenPopRadio.com following Miley Cyrus and Owl City. In November 2009 “Heartbreak Queen” was launched on American Samoa’s V-103 WVUV-FM (wvuv.com/) and its sister station 93 KHJ (khjradio.com/). A portion of the proceeds from the single will go towards continuing tsunami relief efforts in American Samoa, particularly the village of Leone where Jobob's father was born.

The Hawaii Music Award voting base comes from an average of 45 states, over 100 countries, including music production companies, agencies, recording studios and various music industry personnel. Winners will be announced on February 12 and the Hawaii Music Award’s Nominees Celebration Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 27th, at the Waikiki Sheraton Hotel.
