Songwriter’s Retreat with Charley Sandage ...A Collaborative Workshop in Music-rich Mountain View, Arkansas
Wildflower Bed and Breakfast, located on Mountain View’s famous court square where the “pickers” gather, will host a songwriter’s retreat and workshop on February 26 and 27, 2010. Charley is probably best known for his “Arkansas Stories” writing, but his songs have been recorded by a number of folk artists and have been performed on A Prairie Home Companion, The Grand Ol’ Opry, and Hee-Haw. He has been a lifelong teacher in Arkansas public schools and colleges and in teacher workshops and other settings. For those interested in marketing songs, he will tap into his own experience and into assistance from the Little Rock chapter of NSAI (Nashville Songwriter’s Association International.)
Bring your instruments (a piano is available on site), your notebooks and scraps of paper with scribbled verses, and a willingness to learn from and teach one another.
The schedule begins Friday evening with an orientation session, and a "guitar pull" (song swap). Saturday includes general and collaborative writing sessions plus personal work time.
The Wildflower Bed & Breakfast offers tastefully appointed rooms, all with private in-rooms bathrooms and luxury amenities. A full country breakfast is included each morning with your room reservation. On Saturday, you will enjoy Charley’s music during breakfast.
