November 24, 2009- Howard University’s, Broadway Miller, releases his third mixtape hosted and arranged by fellow bison DJ Annonymous. “Catch Up or Get Caught” is now available on-line for download and streaming. Currently nominated for North Carolina Underground Music Award’s Lyricist of the Year and ranked #4 among Beam’s Top 5 songs of the week with “Passenger Side”, Broadway’s buzz continues to grow along the east coast. With radio play in his home state of North Carolina and appearances at local DC nightclubs, the southern lyricist continues to hustle the support and respect of multiple demos.
“Catch Up or Get Caught” is a first glimpse at Broadway Miller’s growth as an artist and as a man since his first release “Chillin’ Wit Customers” (2005). “With this project my game is better. I used to say, ‘catch up or get caught’ to people just talking trash. Now, I use the saying as a self-motivator to remain ahead of the game. I'm older, I've experienced more, and I’m wiser. That being said, I have created an ill mixtape that shows ME...what I’ve been, what I am, and what I aspire to become,” explains Miller.
Broadway is set to perform at Faces Lounge in Greenville, NC on November 25, 2009 and will host his own album release party in DC next month. About Broadway Miller:
Hailing from Chadbourn, NC, Broadway Miller unites southern lyricism with a DC swagger to offer a fresh sound to the underground hip-hop circuit. Bringing lyrical prowess to the hip-hop game, Broadway brings a much-needed substance to the ever-present crunk of the south. Setting out to dispel stereotypes, Broadway is pursuing a degree in business management at Howard University in Washington, D.C. An avid listener of rhythm and blues, at the age of 6, Broadway developed a love for music greats Roberta Flack, the Delphonics, and Gladys Knight. As the soulful beats of rhythm and blues sparked Broadway’s musical interests, hip hop artists such as Pastor Troy, Wu-Tang Clan and Mobb Deep heavily influenced his development as an emcee. Known first as Bliss One, Broadway transformed Miller into Broadway Street, eventually giving birth to the name Broadway Miller. Broadway’s everyday life is inspiration for his lyrics and motivation to grow. With exceptional drive and vision, he set out to prove nay-sayers wrong. Broadway’s first live performance at Fantasy’s Night Club in Chadbourn, NC, proved to be a pivotal moment in his career as he gained local respect from battling other emcees. Past mixtapes include: "Chillin Wit Customers" with DJ Anonymous (2005) and "Gets It All Day" (2007). Broadway has opened concerts for Little Brother, Ghostface Killa, Bun B, UGK, Trey Songz, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Juelz Santana, Three Six Mafia and Fort Minor.
