LiquidAudio.org launched it's website on November 1, 2009. It has revolutionary
features for independent artists, music fans, and independent record labels. "I
tried to create something that gives artists every tool they need to get their music
noticed and at the same time allows them to store all of their music at a single location", says
Ed Campbell, owner of LiquidAudio. As an artist you can upload unlimited mp3s for just $20/year or
you can try out the site by uploading 2 songs for free. Music fans can register for free
and download any of the songs the artists make available for download. They are also eligible
to win prizes. LiquidAudio bases everything off the amount of "Points" you accumulate. Artists
get points for being ranked in member's top 10 lists, when people listen to their music, and
when they listen to other artist's music. Listeners get points for being an artist's number 1 fan,
leaving comments, and listening to music. "I wanted to create a system that brings everyone together, having
artists ranking other artists and fans able to chat with the artists", says Ed Campbell. The top artist,
track, and listener charts are based on how many points each member gets per day.
Some of the features on LiquidAudio include bulletin posting, friend lists, custom profile creation,
unlimited image uploads, blogs, community chat, external music player, revolutionary ranking system,
YouTube video module, ability to sell music through 3rd party companies such as SnoCap, detailed statistics,
ability to see who is currently listening to your music, contests, show search, and much more. "The web site
has been built, the tools and features are there, all we need now is people", says Ed Campbell. LiquidAudio
looks to become a leader in community based music web sites. It is always expanding its features and always
open to new ideas. If you are looking for a music site that will be ahead of the curb for years to come,
LiquidAudio is where you should be.
