LOCAL MUSICIANS DONATING ALL PROCEEDS: From Music Benefit to Whitewater Family

Deerfield, Wis. – November 14, 2009 –

Local musicians are collaborating to perform at Live. Love. Rock. – A Benefit for Patrick Peterson, to raise awareness for a Whitewater family in need of the community’s support. Pooling dexterity and poetic jams, these musicians are raising money for fellow musician, Pat Peterson and family, as they battle brain cancer and the treatments that ensue.

Patrick (Pat) Peterson has been a staple to Southeastern Wisconsin, inspiring lives with his onstage brilliance and off-stage compassion. Patrick is a philanthropist at heart, working on and playing for more than 100 charitable events for organizations such as the Children’s Hospital, Salvation Army, Red Cross and Relay for Life. He and his wife, Ruth, have also co-organized and promoted events like The Second Street Hope Festival, The Jack Hartmann Open and Robstock – raising more than $50,000 for members and food pantries of local communities.

Patrick takes every opportunity he can to give, and never expects a thing in return. "Music is a powerful tool," says Patrick, who underwent brain surgery on September 29, 2009 to have a Grade IV Astrocytoma tumor removed.

“If I can utilize it to change a life, I know I have channeled my energy towards something that is good. To be fortunate enough to say I have touched many lives has been a heart-warming experience. I don’t know what could top the feeling of giving to so many deserving people.”

According to braintumor.org, “When a brain tumor is detected, treatment decisions will be based on a variety of factors, including the risk posed by the tumor’s aggressiveness…Grade III and IV tumors have rapidly reproducing cells lacking the structure and function of normal cells. They readily infiltrate adjacent normal tissue; it is not uncommon for recurrence at a higher grade after surgical treatment.”

With chemotherapy and radiation treatments ahead, a daughter to support and Patrick’s wife now being an at-home caretaker, the Peterson Family is in need of our aid.

In addition to playing with bands The Pipe Circus, Avengers Assemble, Sector 3 and many solo acts, Patrick also takes time throughout the week to tutor youth in music. He has encouraged many children to further their education and has helped others find a better path in life.

The Peterson family depends on Patrick’s income, from playing shows across Wisconsin and tutoring, as its source of income. Now more than ever, they need our community members, friends and family to generously give back the love and support they have shown so many people throughout the years.

Live. Love. Rock. – A Benefit for Patrick Peterson will be held at Cuda Cafe, located at 12 S Industrial Park Rd in Deerfield, Wisconsin. The event will feature the musical talent of: Brian “Looper” Lucas, Dave Ellison Band, Blue Olives, members of The Pipe Circus, Sector 3, Avengers Assemble and more. There will be food and beverages, games and raffles for participants of all ages. Everyone is encouraged to attend and all proceeds will go to the Patrick Peterson Benefit Fund. Doors open at 4 p.m. There will be a donation cover at the door.

This event has one day to rock the occasion and deliver an
unforgettable gift to a very deserving family.

Those unable to attend the event can send donations to First Citizens Bank, Attn: The Patrick Peterson Benefit Fund, 207 W. Main St., Whitewater, WI 53190 or call (262) 473-2112.
