Worldwide superstar Whitney Houston will be performing in the UK for the first time in a decade and tickets are expected to sell out in minutes when they go on sale this Friday.

"This is my first full tour since 1999. I cannot wait to perform songs from my new album along with favourites,” Whitney is quoted as saying.

Her comeback album, titled ‘Look To You’ is released in the UK on October 19 after fantastic success in the US last month, topping the Billboard album chart with sales of 305,000 copies - the biggest first-week sales of any female artist so far this year. The album features collaborations with the likes of Alicia Keys and R Kelly.

The 46-year-old singing sensation will also be performing on The X-Factor this weekend, her first UK TV appearance in 12 years.

Often dubbed ‘The Voice’, Whitney Houston is renowned as the ultimate soul-pop diva. She has sold over 170 million records in a glittering career, producing world-famous tracks such as ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me), ‘My Love is Your Love’, and of course, ‘I Will Always Love You’ – the theme track from her starring role alongside Kevin Costner in ‘The Bodyguard’.
