Singer/Songwriter Maree McRae will perform at the Little Bear August 13, 2009 in support of her sophomore album “Urgency” set for release on August 3, 2009.

DENVER, CO (July 29, 2009)– Having worked as lead singer and multi-instrumentalist for one of Rocky Mountain’s most sought after acts Cadillac Ranch, singer/songwriter Maree McRae took a solo creative venture and released her successful debut project “I Won't Settle for Less.” With the success of her debut album, McRae is now set to release her highly anticipated sophomore album “Urgency,” a folk pop/country crossover on August 3, 2009.

“We have all heard it said, strength comes out of adversity and with it are the gifts, and we just have to open our eyes to them. With the diagnosis of my son’s illness, came the title cut of this album, ‘Urgency’ and I believe it was the gateway for all the rest of the songs to be born on this project. It feels wonderful to be back with the gift of this new material and also, the gift I am told that it brings to so many others. I don’t think there has ever been a place in my career, until now, where so many people respond so warmly to my work. This album is a work of heart and the best thing is that my audience responds saying it has touched a place in them that they thank me for. I am so excited to get this out to the world and give what I can with this new project,” shares McRae.

Although McRae’s sound is primarily in the adult contemporary genre, with 12 original tracks, “Urgency” maintains the truthful resonance that mirrors a variety of styles from folk rock to country. She self-composed all the tracks, and the album is filled with her trademark melodies and lyrics from the soul. The variety of moving styles and songs proves that “Urgency” is McRae’s most noteworthy collection to date.

The release party for “Urgency” will be held at the Little Bear in Evergreen, Colorado on August 13, 2009 at 8:00 pm.
