NC Songwriters Co-op presents their 12th annual song contest

Submit your two best songs and you could win your share of over $3000 in prizes! Entries will be accepted from August 1, 2009 until September 15, 2009 through www.SonicBids.com/ncsongcontest or by mail to PO Box 335, Carrboro, NC, 27510. Rules and entry form at www.songwriters.org/annualcontest. You don't have to be a resident of NC or a member of NCSC.

Any genre of music, as long as one of the musicians wrote or co-wrote the song, is accepted although most fall in categories like acoustic rock, Americana, blues, bluegrass, country, folk, pop, and singer-songwriter. You can enter as many times as you like.

Eight finalists will compete live at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro, NC on Sunday October 25. A panel of judges will choose first, second and third place winners. First place winner will get $500 in cash plus a gift certificate from Oasis Disc Manufacturing, one year membership in TAXI, gift certificates from Sam Ash, plus much more. Second and third place winners also receive cash and other great prizes.

We thank our sponsors the Independent, Indie Bible, Indie-Music.com, Intellitouch Tuners, Music Loft Carrboro, Oasis Disc Manufacturing, Sam Ash Music, SingOut!, SonicBids, TAXI, and The ArtsCenter.

Find out why previous winner Jonathan Byrd said, “Winning the NC Songwriters Co-op Songwriting Contest was a much needed affirmation at just the right time in my life.”
