"Like so many young trumpet players, I grew up playing along with Maynard Ferguson's records, attempting to play the same screaming obbligato melodies that Maynard had mastered…As is often the case, there came a time when I realized that if I really wanted to have a career as an artist I would have to buckle down, not just play along with Maynard's records-although every once in a while I still do," laughs Pero. "Hey, tranquility isn't always easy to come by!"
Joey is also using his new web presence to launch his debut album "Resonance." The album features a wide selection of well known pieces uniquely reworked to blend classical and jazz with rock and pop in Joey Pero's own unique style.
