Ex-clown and Government official Richard Masters has turned his back on the establishment to write and record his album: Escape Artist.

Tales of love, loss and strange vows, clowns, thieves, serpents and pantomime cows.

He's like Martin Carthy, Jacques Brel and Jake Thackray with something new thrown in, sad, funny, dark and joyful, every song is like a film, every word cuts to the quick.

Looking at his bio on his website (My Murky Past) he's had a chequered career, from a marching band to metal, from 'soft folk' to Eastern European gypsy music, from Mr. Stafford's living room to Glastonbury.
