Philadelphia Songwriters Project Announces 2009 Songwriting Contest

Philadelphia Songwriters Project opens up a call for original submissions to find the next batch of up and coming songwriters in the region for its 2009 Songwriting contest.
Winning songwriters will earn unprecedented, high quality performance slots at multiple festivals Including....

The Kimmel Center Summer Solstice (June 20/21, 2009)
Bethlehem Musik Fest 2009 (August 6, 2009)
The Philadelphia Folk Festival (August 14/15/16, 2009)
stay tuned to the website as more opportunities or prizes may be added.

Details:
- Performing Songwriters of all levels (beginner thru professional) and all genres are welcome to submit. However some performances must be able to be stripped down to accommodate some venues.
-There is no specific "theme" or type of music. Just send your best material.
-Deadline for submissions April 13, 2009
-Semi-finalists announced May 11, 2009
-Final judging will take place LIVE at PSP show in June 7, 2009. 4pm @ MilkBoy Coffee Ardmore, Pa . Winners will be announced at this show.

GREEN SUBMISSION POLICY:
In an effort to limit waste we are accepting submissions on-line thru paypal. You can pay for and indicate your music links and songs to be listened to thru the paypal system. On the last page before completing the Paypal transaction there is a link to a text box which is titled links to your music. You can write all relevant information about accessing your music in this dialoge box.
Submission is $10 per song (multiple songs permitted).
If you DO NOT have the ability to submit on-line you may mail your submission to:-
PO BOX 69 Ardmore, PA 19003. Checks made out to The Philadelphia Songwriters Project.
Complete contact information must be included with CD (name, address, phone, email).
-Send no other press materials

-Round 1 Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of music professionals, Winners will be chosen by audience vote at live show.
- Winners must be available to play at all performance opportunities to qualify.
- Artists are responsible for all travel expenses incurred to performance opportunities.
