Jonathan Edwards & David Mallett at Loon Song Singer/Songwriter Camp

Holderness NH – February 4, 2009 -

Loon Song Singer/Songwriter Camp, designed for all levels of ability from beginners to professionals, runs from June 7 to June 11, 2009 in Holderness NH. This year's instructors consist of music industry veterans, singers, songwriters, musicians, promoters and sound technicians.

Jonathan Edwards & David Mallett, two legendary singer songwriters will be providing songwriting workshops and evening concerts.

Jonathan Edwards achieved instant fame with his 1971 million-selling song "Sunshine" ("go away today"), which earned him a gold record. His long career has included collaborations with artists like Emmylou Harris and Jimmy Buffett, plus theater, commercials, movie soundtracks, TV series narration, and record production.

David Mallett's songs have been recorded by more than 150 artists, including Pete Seeger, Alison Krauss, John Denver, Emmylou Harris, Peter, Paul & Mary--even The Muppets--and his "Inch by inch, row by row..." "Garden Song" has become an American folk classic.

The instructors include: Lisa McCormick, a mainstay of the indie singer/songwriter underground, where her strong, clear voice, and smart, sexy lyrics have earned her a loyal following. Stevie Coyle, founder, songwriter, guitarist and former front man of the Waybacks. Mary Maguire from The Mary Maguire Band and Sweet Hot & Sassy, her vocal and harmony workshops are legendary. Julian McBrowne, a teacher, career recording engineer, and producer, with over twenty years experience as a live sound mixer and production manager. The list goes on.

Workshops cover song writing, lyrics, instrumentation, accompaniment, vocals, harmony, collaboration, demos, sound clinics and other themes. Evening concerts are included and private instruction is available as well.
Loon Song is held at Rockywold Deephaven Camps. Private, serene and comfortably simple, RDC naturally allows this special event to take center stage while the area's majestic beauty is nothing short of inspirational.

Lodging and meals are included at Loon Song. Lodges and cottages are tucked discreetly amidst 1.5 miles of shore front pines and granite outcroppings. Cottages have a fireplace, screened in porch, a private dock and an antique ice box where ice harvested from Squam Lake is delivered daily, as is firewood. Three hearty buffet style meals are served daily. The food is varied, to include a vegetarian entree, a full salad bar, desserts and beverages.

Want to make this a special vacation with a loved one or your whole family? Reduced rates are available for family members not attending workshops. There's plenty for them to do while you're playing music and learning. How about a hike right from camp on one of the many trails up the mountains? Maybe a set of tennis? Or how about some quiet time out on the lake?

If you’re looking for a great music vacation, in a unique setting, an experience that you'll be talking about for years to come, then Loon Song Singer/Songwriter Camp may possibly be the highlight of your summer. Website: www.loonsong.org
