Elavi is asked by organizers of the world renowned futuresonic Music and arts festival to showcase his music.

Last years festival saw the likes of the legendary RZA of the wu tang clan headline at the festival to resounding critical success. This year is the turn of what could be a future luminary Elavi whose music has been Steadily building a powerful reputation for both his commercial and experimental appeal, a feat that few artist seem to achieve.

Ironically it was last years RZA talk that Elavi first came to the attention of the events organizer Drew Hemment. Elavi had asked RZA how he could as an artist circumvent the problems he was having selling his music in the streets of his home town of Manchester. As he explained Elavi was in a fierce legal battle with the city council who felt him selling his music was problematic.

Drew Hemment took a chance on Elavi and offered him a place on Futuresonic 2009.
“Its seems that what could have been a rash decision actually turn out to be brilliant because I really love what Elavi is doing with his music it vey much fits the remits of futuresonic and we feel that it will be both great for Elavi And future Sonic.

Elavi said it is a great honour to follow in the footsteps of RZA to bring my music to this event for me it’s a big thing after so much opposition from the council agents who are cracking down hard on me and other street sellers. He went on to say that the council have no idea about the culture of mixtape selling that need an outlet in order to survive. Luckily for me I am beginning to make waves elsewhere but we can not forget the new blood coming trough, the music need to live.

Futuresonic 2008 featured 5 days and nights of live music, art premieres, exhibitions, club nights and events featuring a world-class programme of over 350 artists attended by 50,000 people in 30 venues and spaces across the city centre it is promised that the 2009 event will be even bigger.
