Seattle, Washington-September 30, 2008-Tamara Lewis’s new release Living Down River serves a twofold purpose. The recording is a powerful personal and musical statement that goes beyond one simple listen. The thought provoking CD is inspired by conversations with friends, life’s experiences and her 20-year career as psychotherapist. Tamara’s survival of ten years of Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction contributed heavily to the reflective and poignant lyrical content of the album.

Her mix of contemporary songs that blend folk, country, and blues are threads of stories that weave their way purposefully throughout the recording. Tracks like “Better Day” echo with emotion and the feeling of someone that has gone through, experienced, and endured some hardships only to come out the other side and step into the light then be able to share that experience with someone that needs some inspiration to do the same. Tamara’s ability to dig down on a deep level personally makes her music the most powerful tool of communication she could use to convey messages to an audience. You never feel alone listening to her music and walk away believing that you can also meet life’s challenges and move forward in your life.
Tamara started playing guitar and songwriting in her mid-40's and released her first CD, Long Time, No See when she was 48. Now at age 50, Living Down River is a new beginning. For ambitious and enlightened people like Tamara Lewis life really does begin at 50.
