CHICAGO, IL, August 30, 2008 – Once again it seems that super group, Project: FR3SH, is going back out to the streets in order to connect with their Chicago land community. As Chicago increasingly breaks records with this summer’s murder rate, that is presently mounting, Project Fr3sh has decided that it is their civic duty to come forward and take a stand in order to save our youth. Project: FR3SH, in addition to organizing an indoor concert titled “WE RUN CHI”, has decided to join the Chicago’s Annual African Festival for the Arts, that will be held in Washington Park on September 1, 2008, on Chicago’s Southside, as another attempt to reach out to the many communities inside the city. With an estimated 10,000 people to be in attendance on that day, it’s obvious that the presence of Project: FR3SH will impact the lives of many.
At Chicago’s Annual African Festival for the Arts, African Americans, and other ethnicities, of all ages are in attendance in order to celebrate Africa’s rich heritage and to reflect on how this rich heritage has extended to the United States of America. The tenacious trio will be performing on the festival’s Hip Hop stage where they hope to be able to promote peace and unity within Chicago land’s African American communities. Project: FR3SH front man, Mark Byrd, described the gesture as “…taking a stand against an epidemic that is plaguing out city… gun violence. We were merely doing our part as concerned citizens about the murders in our home town!”
About PROJECT: FR3SH The innovative and eclectic rap/hip hop trio encompasses Mark Byrd, native of Chicago’s west side, Chi-Leak, also of the city’s west side, and Penn “the God,” who has resided in various cities in the Midwest. Together, the high energy team, PROJECT: FR3SH, is currently embarking on a journey that will forever change the course of music history. Their unique style and individualized characteristics couples with their advanced lyrical prowess has made them a super group on the Chicago music scene. These three extremely talented solo artists have joined forces in order to penetrate the hearts and minds of all races, religions, and cultures.
