Press release n.1 Florence, 28/02/2008
DigiFestival.net – 2008 Edition
The first multimedia festival of art in streaming video has approached its fourth edition in
a brand new shape and with several important changes in the jury panel, streaming video
quality and in final events.
The jury panel for each category is now forming with high profile personalities.
Subscriptions are open from February the 1st till July the 1st 2008 (last deadline). As usual
the contest is hosted in the virtual gallery www.digifestival.net powered by the
DigiChannel.net technology, and will take place from August the 15th to September the
15th 2008.

According to our now well established formula, also this year all artists and companies from
all disciplines can participate with their productions and works realized and/or documented in
video.
Indeed this festival will present some new features. First of all the categories that are now
grown to 6 instead of 5: in the contest this year we see Music, Movies, Video Art, Photo
and Digital Images, Animation and Sport.
Indeed every artist this year will have a real personal web page in the selected discipline and
style, to better include every art work in the proper section.
The submitted videos will be encoded in Windows Media Technology™ up to full broadcast
resolution to provide the best video quality for the audience.
All works of art in video streaming will all be finally published on August the 15th 2008 at
00:00 GMT and will remain available on the website for after the end of the contest.
During the Festival the internet audience will be able to view all works, to vote for the best one
at absolutely no cost and to nominate the Absolute Winner.
At the same time a technical professional jury and the DigiFestival.net staff will evaluate all
videos and nominate a winner per category.
And for October 2008 we are preparing 4 full days of screening with several related activities
including also special debates with jury members and festival winners: a great scenario for our
network that becomes less and less virtual to get always more real features. In our totally
dedicated large space everybody will be able to watch, live and learn. From the internet
Digifestival.net becomes a real space of contact to promote and exchange ideas and new
impulses on art between the festival staff, the participants and public. In just a word:
networking.
