FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Healing Power of Music Cover-Art Contest receives JHS student entries.
Jefferson, GA – Charitable Organization “The Healing Power of Music” enters phase two of its Cover Art Contest by selecting six anonymous finalists from almost fifty student entries.
Art students at Jefferson High School drew on their creative talents to design possible CD covers for the upcoming HPM release “The Power of a Song”. Finalists were selected this week and placed online where the public can view them and vote for favorites. Public vote will largely determine the winning design. Voters may vote more than once.
“I am a JHS alumnus myself, and knowing art instructor Jim Bryan and the creativity he inspired in me as a student, I naturally wanted to turn to his classes for works to consider” says HPM founder and musician Ricky Fitzpatrick. “The entries were everything we hoped they would be, and more. I don’t know if people realize it, but we are home to some amazingly creative and talented young people who are generously using their abilities for a very worthy cause.”
The Healing Power of Music makes free, live musical performances available to hospital patients, of all ages, all over the world through the collective talents of over 60 affiliated musicians in 20 different countries. “The Power of a Song” is a compilation CD of over a dozen of HPM’s affiliated musicians, to be released in late November, and given as a free gift to patients whenever artists perform.
