FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
“The Healing Power of Music” launches its new events calendar, September 15 with a performance at the BJC Medical Center in Commerce, GA.
The Healing Power of Music (HPM) works directly with local musicians, bringing live performances to hospitals in the area. Performances are “unplugged” and acoustic and may be for either individuals or groups of patients. All performances are of course, free of charge to the hospitals and patients, with the affiliated artists, donating their performance time.
HPM believes in the actual power of music to sooth, heal and change not only a person’s mind, but their physiology as well. HPM follows in the successful footsteps of larger organizations such as Music That Heals and Hospital Audiences, both in New York, and Music Heals, Inc in Houston, counting artists such as John Mayer and other music industry stars, to their rosters of performers.
BJC Medical Center welcomes local singer/songwriter Ricky Fitzpatrick on September 15 for a Patients-Only show. Fitzpatrick is hailed as being “the next James Taylor” and is most widely known locally for his original song “Highway 98”, set to become the state’s first Official Song of any state highway.
More information about Ricky Fitzpatrick can be found at www.rickyfitzpatrick.com.
