San Francisco, CA – When George Clinton asked his touring manager-daughter why he wasn’t on Ms. Keys new CD, she said, ”Because, Dad, you take too long!”
Stefanie Keys Pisarczyk writes and performs music and lyrics of her own, with some Janis Joplin added to the mix. People who have listened, people throughout the country attuned to new releases, respond enthusiastically to what they are hearing. It never fails. Everyone has a different “favorite” – making all of Stefanie Keys’ songs in Say You Will favorites.
Produced by Peter Keys (P-Funk, SeePeopleS, Muzik Mafia-Big N Rich, Gretchen Wilson) of Shock Logic Productions at The Church Studio, Plymouth, Michigan, the CD features such notables as P-Funk’s Greg Thomas and Bennie Cowan on horns; Terry Lesperance, Todd Glass (Reefermen) and Jay Lane (Rat Dog) on drums; Robin Sylvester (Rat Dog) and Dave Shul (Spearhead) on electric guitar; Alan Hall and Bobby East (Reefermen, Kid Rock) on lead guitar.
Call it a twist of fate. Michael “Clip” Payne (P-Funk, 420 Funk Mob) happened to stop by and heard Stefanie Keys perform Joplin’s “Try (Just a Little Bit Harder)”in her recording session at Peter Keys’ Church Studio. That track (#8) got his attention. He immediately signed on to co-produce and distribute Say You Will through the 420 Funk Mob and CMG label, WeFunk Records.
“Girl I Don’t Know”, track #1, sets the tone, artfully arranged by Happy Sanchez, San Francisco-based musician-composer, whose work has influenced the music of many Bay Area artists (Latin Soul Syndicate) as well as national TV and film.
In her music and voice Stefanie Keys is strong, clear, melodic -- her lyrics searching, heartfelt, deep and accessible. From Pop to Funk-Rock to Country, Say You Will entertains and inspires. It’s about real life, a journey of love, disappointment, hope, the promise of truth.
Stefanie Keys naturally, intentionally-- gives expression to the power of human emotion -- and choices -- with every song she creates and performs.
Stefanie Keys’ Say You Will is featured at the 420 Funk Mob website www.wefunkrecords.com, or you can hear it at www.myspace.com/stefaniekeys.
In addition to her solo performances in the Bay Area, Ms. Keys will be performing with the 420 Funk Mob in upcoming performances this Fall.
“My commitment to humanity is that all people have freedom and power to choose opportunities that express who they are. Having a voice makes a difference. We all have a voice. Own it. This is how we contribute to the world and peace on this planet. Say you will!”
