CD REVIEW: Ric Sven - Acoustic Simplicity
By Ben Ohmart - 05/21/2007 - 10:34 AM EDT

Artist: Ric Sven
Genre: Folk
CD Review:
Not much more to be said after reading the title of the cd. It's short (30+ minutes), but sweet. A couple acoustic guitars battling it out for supremacy of tune, in stereo, one per ear, like a Queen ballad might. Except here we have the country life approach to overdubs; nothing very complex or mind-bending, but peaceful, relaxed, not always perfect or hitting each note as should be, but it lays you back, puts your feet up. One track will bleed into another and before you know it, you're asleep and the player is beginning again. Catch some sun, adjust the headphones, and close your eyes.
