CD REVIEW: Lynette Schultz - ... It's Only Natural
By Ben Ohmart - 05/21/2007 - 10:34 AM EDT

Artist: Lynette Schultz
Genre: Pop
CD Review:
One of the best things here is the mostly instrumental 'When the Bell Tolls', much like a blue Journey song, think 'Only the Lonely'. However, the title song 'It's Only Natural' has a good lite rock feel to it with lots of female vocals and words of 'i've had my days / some run into nighttime / and along with my lonely years / baby i've been so fine / but nothing will ever compare / with good love you've given me'. Guitars, bass and vocals by Lynette herself. I wouldn't've guessed it was one person. She's good. Only Preston Darvill on the drums keeps it from being a one woman project. She's very good at bass and trips up her tunes like the mechanic who built the car. Songs like 'Coffee' don't rock, they roll swiftly down the hill, not the mountain, and spill over into clever lyrics like 'give me just a single espresso / or a latte just might soothe this beast / starbucks please, torrefazione or SBC'. Pop, and sunshine day fun.
