CD Review:
From Saint's debut project The Suffering comes “Roll Wit Me,” a single that should be thought of as a contemporary hip-hop love ballad. With a rolling beat, a contagious hook, stick Dr. Dre like melodies, and a simple premise, Saint delivers one of the sexiest street jams I’ve heard in years with the help of Big JO, Amp & Money Marvs.
Here’s an excerpt from the heart of the song, the second verse:
My nigga's is yo niggas, my figgas is you figgas, yes you's my bottom bitch I can't fuck with them gold diggas and I'm lovin' how the sex feel on that x pill
and you down for whatever whenever I say let's chill
and that's real you's a rider...yes take a hit of this, yes it's fire...
I told yo ass before mommy I can take you higher
got me down for the ten count mommy you's a fighter…
You know I’m not the usual fuckin' with those groupie hoes,
actresses and models and the chickens from my videos
Say that you's my down chick, then you'll be my down chick, they may stop and stare but you know who wear the crown miss...
That's poetry - street poetry, but poetry nonetheless. This is the radio track the radio probably will not play, so you will have to put it on rotation in your car stereo or iPod and dare yourself not to surrender and sing-a-along.
