Logging in at just over 34 minutes the CD kicks things off with radio friendly “Disgrace” a upbeat intro piece that serves up steady rock groove, catchy melody, and hooky vocal accents from Lead Singer Ron Dallaire. Track 2 “Calling” is yet another impressive track that dishes out impressive STP type guitar riffs, driving rhythm, and impressive melodic vocals from Dallaire reminiscent of Scott Weiland. Track 3 “Soul to Soul” shifts gears with its progressive rock intro. This is probably my favorite song on the CD - here Resin delivers the perfect blend of hard rock, with catchy melodic hooks and vocal phrasing. It’s pretty much a hit waiting to happen  Resin’s music has a rock steady groove reminiscent of STP, 3 Days Grave, Hinder, and just a splash of Disturbd. The vocals style of Dallaire has a jagged edge, but goes down smooth, and sounds in the vein of Scott Weiland, James Hetfield, Lane Staley, Mark Lanegan, with just a splash of Jon Bon Jovi on some of the more marketable songs. As the CD slowly unfolds its obvious Resin is an accomplished 4 piece (writing and playing). Resin also brings to the table a lot of musical variety via this 11 song catalogue from catchy rock melodies like “Disgrace”, “Breath”, and “Reach Out”  to more darker pieces like “All my Life”, and “Damned”. It’s fair to say there’s something on this CD for just about everybody out there. Resin even delivers a few passionate moments like on “Reason” The songs themselves are solid across the board, and the lyrical content is short and sweet, and even  provides flashes of conventional wisdom - “If you love someone hard enough you may lose them in the end” - nice touch there! The CD ends with Track 12 “Damned” - a perfect finale piece. From start to finish Resin takes no prisoners with their debut effort showcasing 11 amazing songs!

At 34 minutes the production is a bit short, especially when compared to other CD’s within the genera that pushing 70+ minutes of music. I also didn’t hear anything resembling a guitar solo on the entire CD. I fully realize this is a subjective art form and all that stuff – but with respect to this genera, it’s appropriate to showcase some mad skills on the fretboard for bragging rights.

After spending 34 minutes alone with Resin I abandoned all hopes of finding any serious flaws. Resin’s debut CD is an impressive musical production from start to finish. There’s not a weak song on this entire catalogue! In fact I would even go so far as to say 50% of this CD is radio friendly, and has hit potential. I’m amazed at how truly marketable Resin is, while still maintaining a hard sound. The musicianship is everything you would expect from a hard rock band. The guitar has bite, the bass and drums have solid bottom end, the songs are short and sweet musical experiences, the overall production is world class. But make no bones about it the primary focus is up front, on the man standing there.  Ron Dallaire’s vocal abilities are first rate, he clearly possesses all he trademarks of an effective front man. He’s got the charisma, the ladies will love him, the guys will dig him, and he’ got the bad boy persona. Checking out a few of Resin’s live clips they obviously know how to put on a show. It's hard to find any weaknesses when looking and listening to Resin. In this overly saturated market, Resin should be considered a force to reckoned with having now released their third CD and having toured with top national acts. I guess could go on and on all night about Resin, you simply have got to get your hands on some of his music to hear what I’m talking about. You should start with their debut.. What else can – Resin takes no prisoners!
