CD REVIEW: Hunter Payne - 1 Last Chance
By Ben Ohmart - 05/21/2007 - 10:34 AM EDT

Artist: Hunter Payne
Genre: Country
CD Review:
'1 Last Chance' is good songwriting, right in there between genres. Hunter's voice is decidedly country, yet the song is pop enough to make Shania's navel suspiciously wink. 'She Don't Know Why' is again contemporary country with a story song sad enough to pray to. The loud, slow beat works well in this song. The voice is the blue, heroic type, like a voyeur all overcome by what he's seeing. 'I'm So Glad To Be Yours' is the opposite side, happy, positive, you smile when you listen to it and shake your head in constant agreement. The last 3 tracks are bonus tracks, women singing Hunter's songs. Some good stuff. I look forward to seeing this guy in the charts.
