CD REVIEW: Moses Guest - Live Stages

Artist: Moses Guest Website:http://www.mosesguest.com/ Genre: Pop/Rock CD Review: 'Intro Jam' is the first thing you hear. I like it. I don't think I love it because the sound fluctuates now and then and I think I hear a few mistakes in the playing (but it's jazz so I'm sure I'm wrong). Pretty good for a live recording though. 'Over the Car / Under the Stairs' shows the dynamic presence of this Texas band. It goes for 11 minutes before breaking silence for the next track. I don't mind being spared applause; and it sounds like they're taking the best live tracks rather than a full concert, which is a good idea (whether they Are doing this or not).
It's rock jam stuff, like blues guys who want something a little more fun, taking musical ideas and exploring them fully via mega-long sessions. 'How Does It Feel?' is perhaps my favorite on the cd. It's a lively pace with plenty of guitar fits, while still within a pleasant chord progression you don't mind hearing for 10 minutes.
A good band with a good lead voice in Graham Guest. They sent me their other 2 cds in the same batch, so I can't wait to give a listen.
