The Dream kicks off with a latin beat and some slick guitar work from William on a song called Broken Fences. “Just leave things as you found them, don’t try to rearrange my heart,” Barbara croons in her mellow alto. It’s an easy and enjoyable listen.

The title song, The Dream, is next with some reverb electric slide guitar over a fingerpicked acoustic. “Pretty, young people with stars in their eyes.” It’s a hypnotic groove telling the story of a young woman from California who packed up her van “with her paints and her innocence.” I could almost smell the incense.

It’s A Shame features some snakey hot sax from Bruce Nifong and sizzling electric guitar from Will. Hero comes alive with sweet vocal harmonies and a very catchy melody riding Will’s acoustic guitar. Tenderness is another favorite with some excellent guitar work from William, Nifong’s sexy saxophone and Barbara’s soulful vocal. What a delight!

The Dream rides a smooth groove highlighted by Barbara’s throaty, sexy lead vocal and Will’s sparkling guitar. It’s best enjoyed on a summer evening on the deck, cold beverage in hand and a full moon in the sky. It will have you swaying, rocking, and holding hands with the one you love.
