CD REVIEW: Bobbie Lynn - Texas Born Blues
By Ben Ohmart - 05/21/2007 - 10:34 AM EDT

Artist: Bobbie Lynn
Genre: Country
CD Review:
Let's start at the beginning of the 5 song cd. 'i don't wanna be lonely / i don't wanna be blue / i don't wanna have a mirror memory / of losing my baby'. That's from 'Mirror Memories', in the tradition, as is all of the cd, of bar-hopping, traveling and playing for your beer songs. Good production, and Bobbie's voice isn't Mariah Carey, it's the Loretta Lynn thang that does what it does. If you like it, great, if not, fine, she's going to sing anyway. Nice guitar on 'My Cowboy', and I like the harmonies on 'Raining Again Down in Texas', and above all I like Bobbie's spirit. The letter that came with it talks about her grandmother's profound influence and how grandma died before being able to hear the cd. But I think she'd be please, Ms. Lynn.
