CD REVIEW: Dropout - Dropout
By Ben Ohmart - 05/21/2007 - 10:34 AM EDT

Artist: Dropout
Genre: Dance
CD Review:
'Groovy Bump Melon' has a lot going on in it. Imagine a Parliament session, with all those voices and wah guitar, horns, bass bass bass. One of the hits of the 44 minute cd.

Good acoustic guitar work on 'The Drug Song', and I like the way the drums creep up on you before you realize it. Not a fan of that filtered, shouting kind of vocal, but that's me. 'Himalaya' is an interesting blend of sounds. You might expect it to be the soundtrack of mountain climbers. One of my favorites of the cd, if not my Fav. Power house.

'Find Your Mind' explodes into being like a train hitting a car, lots of crash in the cymbals, and high voices in the back. Fine party music. House party of course!

Worth checking out. Definitely.
