CD Review:
Coles Whalen, a singer/songwriter/musician from Denver, Colorado sent in this very adult contemporary track from her debut CD, "Nothing Is Too Much." It’s a poignant, guitar and vocal ballad that she performs with amazing intimacy and vulnerability that are engulfing. This radio-friendly track is the kind of song that commands attention at first listen. It’s the second listen that you realize its lyrical content leaves much room for interpretation. Is it about a woman having an affair? Is about man having an affair? Is it about a man and a woman who have longed for each other but could never act on their desires – until now?
You decide:
Push the blankets to the floor..hit the light and lock the door... Lose your clothing anyhwere...on the lamp, the desk, the chair... And hold me like I know you care and I'll be with you till the end... If the sun refused to rise, I would still love you all night... There is no room for regret...cause this may be the only night we ever get
Those lyrics are as provocative as Coles is talented, and this is a song (and a situation) that many adults can relate to.
