CD REVIEW: Blue Taxi - Ridin' Shotgun
By Ben Ohmart - 05/21/2007 - 10:34 AM EDT

Artist: Band: Blue Taxi
Genre: Blues/Country
CD Review:
Yes, they're ridin' shotgun with some trippy blues tunes that come out all country at times without the cryin' violin and yodel in the voices. 'Checking Out' begins it, with fine female vocals in the Pat Benetar range, and enough guitar breaks to fill in a cracked wall. They also do a pretty faithful adaptation of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps', by you know whom. But their own tunes is where it's at. The very blue 'Something's Going On' is like a woman crying in a cave and it's a crime to listen to this one during the day time.
