We have an Art festival and a craft market for the candles this weekend PLUS I'm holding a garage sale. My God! How am I going to pull this off! The garage is a disaster zone!

These are the ones I like best that I've made this week so far.
Each one comes out the mold just a little bit different.
I like that.



Every one of them still needs leather string and beads tied on plus hang tags. Fiddly fiddly!

Even from over here on the other side of the planet, I can almost smell the roses.
But your artwork needs all of our senses to really appreciate, including that sixth one.

Candle making is fun. I wouldn't know where to start with making ones as cool as yours, but I did have a relieving gig last year teaching in the local technology centre, where I had the pleasure of teaching kids (as well as electronics, movie-making and cooking) candle-making (just the kind where you keep dipping the wick into different coloured waxes), and I just had to make a few of my own!! LOL

You know, I find it funny that a lot of men think that candles are more or less a "female" thing.
I'm sure there (I KNOW) there are men who like the smell of lavender or frangipani's or sugar cookies.....or whatever. Scent is something that instantly provokes recall of certain memories and since we all have noses, and memories I just wish that men would change their way of thinking when it comes to scented candles.
They make FAR better customers, lol! Unlike women who spend half an hour sniffing EVERYTHING then get confused and spend another half an hour deciding, men walk up to the table pick up one or two and say "I'll have this one!"
Much easier.

Theresa, ask your husband what "Man cave" fragrance would smell like. I'm sure I could come up with something.
We have a scent called "Monkey farts". The bored husbands ALWAYS pick that one up and have a sniff.

I like the idea of candle dipping Simon. I've experimented too with that. Fun, but time consuming!

I love the funny names idea (monkey farts) I don't want to ask how you know how that smells...LOL!!

I used to sell a line of candles at Halloween that were spooky and dripped blood as it melted (red wax),

would have been cool to have spooky candles with all of the funny names from Harry Potter they used to

label the jelly belly flavors.....like "boogers", you could have a candle that drips green....LOL!!!

Anyhow, back to you, love that you posted this, you are a very creative and artistic kind of gal!!

Hi Tracy,
You are so right about the men shoppers. We used to have a Flea Market booth at a large market.
I sold plants and dish gardens and the men were the best customers. Most never ask "how much"?

Rick said candles scented like the forest or camping. The " monkey farts " scent is so funny.

Tammy had a great idea for Halloween candles..I was born on Halloween..We always went to
Ft Wilderness Campground in Disney World at Halloween.

Monkey farts is a mixture of fruits btw
We actually have a scent called "campfire". Smells just like campfire smoke! I like it, but most people I know are trying to wash that scent out of their hair and clothes after camping - not fill their house with it, lol!
Hey, and my other half is Richard. I never call him Rick though. His mother used to call him that and she and I never got along.

I've seen those dripping blood candles Tammy. Very cool! I wish we went all out with Halloween here. People don't generally. Not like over there.

Well, just about to go set up the candles. Whew! What a hectic week!

Today I was reading about a round candle that has a ring inside.
as the candle burns down the ring is uncovered. It was given for mother's day.
I thought of you and your candles when I read it..have you any experience with this
