Congrats to all the winners
8:35 AWARD PRESENTATION
Hi everyone..I'm smile and I've been known for having a really friendly personality on the board, and for abusing smilies almost as much as shemuse
So for instance : the other morning I was caught in traffic, and this guy in a big car tried to cut me off and I sang to him "Dude How Many Fingers Am I Holding Up ?". Well needless to say, he got out of his car to have a chat with me and I got to work a couple of hours late. So here comes my boss giving me attitude about it, and I was very apologetic about the whole thing, and I wrote one for her called "Hey Honey, That Weave You Have On Looks So Reeaaal !". Apparently, she loved it a lot cause she gave me a parmanent vacation. Well, I went home with a smile on my face and just wanted to celebrate my new found freedom, when all of the sudden my neighbor, who is this lovely old lady, knocked on my door to complain about the excess snow in the front lawn, so I told her to wait while I go grab my guitar and I came back and sang her "I Don't Enjoy Visits When I'm Smoking A Joint !!"...I think that was a satisfying answer cause she has not been back!
So then got online to get some review for one of my lyrics, and that kind man Stewart Alexander gave me this lenghty commentary about things I needed to improve, so I composed one for him called "If Only I Could Understand Your Own Songs Sweety"...And the cake is before hitting the bed, my ex called me up to patch things up so I replied to him with a song called "I Want Forever And Always...(Without You Jerk!!!)"..ahh, just a day in the life of a songwriter!
Of course, I'm just joking but I gotta say it's fun being bad for a change ---- Now let me present the award to the poster of the young generation. The winner is...
"M J" Award - for Poster of The Younger Generation
Joushh
Yay for you Joussh..what you're gonna do with it? Maybe The next award category is Most missed poster, for those people who came and left without a trace; who knows if theyr out writing a musical by now..but hmm the award goes to !
"Where Be You" Award - for Most Missed Poster
Frank Williamson
Congratulations Frank for your win; it's well deserved. Obviously he cannot be here to accept his award; so I'm accepting on his behalf!
WOO HOOO !!!!at least I get one award lol,

Hi everyone!
Maybe I should have chosen a more unique name...? Like, FreakOfLipstick, or Krueger_Baby. Oh, well, too late now...my originality betrayed me.
Other people, however, were smarter than I and chose for themselves very funny and interesting names. (And I can?t steal ?em, either.
*Sigh* I must live with what choices I make...?tis a far, far better thing than I have done before.
I must get to the point, or else you all will be bored to tears.
The award for most original screename is..............................................................
"My Name Is" Award - for Most Original Screen Name
Toonyfish_Sandwich
Congratulations, Toonyfish! You succeeded in winning an award, and making me hungry! (A sandwich sounds real good right now...)
And, moreover, the award for most original avatar! The winner is.......................................
"Look At Me, I'm The Bomb" Award - for Best Avatar
SilkyTofu
Good job, SilkyTofu! Now I?m not hungry anymore! (Tofu...ewwie.) But the avatar is great, dude, really. Congratulations!!!!!!
Good job, and good luck to everyone. I hope all of you win an award!
--Emily.

Sorry about the link not appearing there for a bit... Strange formatting in text file.
Oh - that is me singing, yes. And the guitarist is none other than Jesse Deese from SongScope.com (the song was done in his studio in Atlanta when I was visiting the year before last).
Seems like things are going really well so far!

I only had time to write one verse of lyrics. So they repeat in the 2nd verse.
Also, I'm a lousy singer, and alas, I'm singing it. I had planned to try to talk someone else here into singing it, but the time got too short.
I hate disclaimers

After you hear our next performer perform, you'll all understand why his music has gained the respect and support of so many fellow songwriters..
His broad knowledge of everything songwriting & his passion towards helping others has made him a two time winner earlier in the show with "Tunesmith" and "Best Reviewer - Lyrics & Music". And now he is showing us his true talent at work with a song he has written to inspire all Musers.
Make him feel welcome everyone : here is YUKON with "Cruise the Muse" !!!

Hobes? Yukon? Could you try reposing? Or David, if you have those posts, could you do that?

I don't know, smile just gave me a run for my money with her last rant. It's not good to laugh at other people's misforutnes, (this is from the same guy who wrote how I laughed when my gramma slipped and fell and broke her hip on some ice.) but your ranting sounds just like me sometimes. And that is why I'm on blood pressure medicine now. Ah, well, I gots'ta be me.

Good evening. I?m Rick, aka RW James, aka Richard W. James. I am co-moderator of the Vertical Songwriting forum. Not many make their way by, but we submit and discuss songs that are inspirational or directed Vertically towards God. I am fairly new to this position, but I have to tell you that I am in awe of the other nominees here, and I am humbled and honored to stand among them.
What is a moderator without a forum? ?well, another songwriter. The great thing about these nominees is that they are all songwriters first, and moderators second. Now consider that they probably also, have a fulltime job (one that actually pays money) in addition to this, and most likely a personal relationship of some sort, it can be a challenge to juggle all of this and still contribute by taking on the huge task of conducting monthly contests in their respective forums or inspiring members through challenges, polls, articles, tutorials and detailed reviews ? and yet they have all done it. How well? The answer is in how much you personally get out of these forums. So finding the best Moderator of the Year can be, in a way, like finding the best Forum. Be that as it may?
Here is a little about each Nominee (as they appeared on the ballot) and their respective Forums:
Martyg (Lyrics & Music)
Marty G joined the board in May 2003. This young man is from Bournemouth (everyone on this board is young compared to me). He co-moderates the Lyrics & Music Forum with Alex V. This forum provides opportunities to post recordings of your songs for critiques. There are an average of 6 critiques per song in this forum, so you stand a pretty good chance for help here. Marty G hosts regular songwriting contests.
Neal K (Lyrics)
Neal K is from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada and was been with the board since November 2001 (giving him seniority in this group). He moderates the Lyrics Forum. This is probably the busiest forum on the board with an average 10 new topics started every day, and an average of 8 responses to every topic. Here is where songwriters can post lyrics for others to review. This is obviously a very productive forum. Neal K also hosts regular lyric contests.
NigeQ (Performance Tips)
Nige Q has been with us since April 2003. He is from Birmingham, England. He co-moderates with John Peacock the Performance Tips, Favorite Venues & Performers Forum. A relatively slow forum that can provide valuable information to anyone that performs their music. Nige always makes sure every topic is answered, and if things are slow, he starts his own topics? always interesting and helpful.
RobertP, John Scott (The Pitching Post)
Robert P from London, Ontario, Canada and John Scott from Nashville, Tennessee, US, co-moderate one of our newest forums The Pitching Post. They both joined the board in September of 2003. The Pitching Post is similar to Lyrics & Music, in that recorded music is part of the post. But here it should have a somewhat more finished aspect and ready to be pitched to a publisher or label. They were also instrumental in getting professional producer Rick D to help with this project, giving a ?real? answer to what otherwise might be best guesses.
RW_James (Vertical Horizon) (? Hey! Good name for a band! ? Wait? it already is) ? Make that Vertical Songwriting
I live in Carson City, Nevada, US. When I joined the boards in August 2003, I noticed the Vertical Songwriting forum was a little slow, so I made an effort to respond to every post in the forum, and to post at least one song a week. This effort was rewarded by Jodi with an offer to co-moderate the forum with Jon Nichol. This has been an interesting and enjoyable challenge for me, and I think we have a good group here.
Yukon (Musical Depth)
From Plano, Texas, US, Yukon joined the board in August of 2003 and brought with him a ?depth? of musical knowledge that has proven beneficial to us all. Whenever a musical question comes up you can always depend on Yukon for THE answer. Many of the technical discussions go way over the heads of many of us, but Yukon is always patient and willing to come down to our level of understanding. One measure of the success of this forum is that the response ratio is an average of 17 responses to each topic.
So these are your 7 nominees for Moderator of the Year and I have to say how incredibly deserving all the nominees are tonight for their contribution to the board. But there can only be one winner, and that is?
?

?
fumble, fumble?
?
?
?
ouch! Paper cut!
?
?
?
the winner is:

?
Neal K!
?
Congratulations! It is well-deserved?
