Question: If you had to be a teacher, what grades/levels and courses would you want to teach and why?

A: Frankly, I'd rather be in charge of a class that learns, then to teach one.

Q: What is your moral argument for or against hanging participles?

A: Hanging, dangling, modifier, the participle is simply an object of annoyance to those who are easily distracted, and are concerned more with the micro, than the macro. Some people see the whole forest, while others see birch, maple, white ash, and oak trees. In other words, "It's the tobacco that counts."

Q: Is it foolhardy to debate an English teacher ?

Probably, unless I am heartily foolish.

Question: Did you miss me?

i am disinclined to acquiesce to your request.
thank you. we're all refreshed and challenged by your unique point of view.
i need a lover that won't drive me crazy.
i brought my pencil . . . gimme something to write on!

if you love someone, let him fly. or break his wings so he can't leave.
on a hot summer night would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?
the boob has been deboobed.
if you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.
the opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.
kill one man, you're a murderer. kill a million, a king. kill them all, a god.

Yeah.

If it's sunny, then no biggie. Otherwise, it can be a struggle.

Question: When was the last time you felt perfectly content, and what was going on?

Just before I tried and got stuck trying to come up with a witty answer.

Who follows this thread anyway?

Those of us who have been here since its inception, and have posted as far back as the first "Mum's the Word" thread.

QUESTION: What's the most evocative "sense memory" of your personal past (and try not to be dismissively prurient, please)?

Yes, lots of fun in the past, it may been a small circle of people who played it, but it was busy.

Answer: Frying bacon, always takes me back to as a youngster and camping, waking up in a canvas tent as drifting whiffs of super charged aromas of coffee percolating, bacon and eggs frying on a camp stove, toast over a open flame, fill the air, there's just something about cooking in the great outdoors and the effect it has on your olfactory perception and memory.

Question: Has this been one of most brutal winters you can remember experiencing ?

Nope. Nice and toasty in this neck of the woods….if anything, a little too warm! We need rain.

It would be telling my controlling parents that I wasn't going to the first day of Law School "Boot Camp", and, thereafter, never again setting foot inside of a Law School.

QUESTION: What one moment in your personal past do you emphatically not regret?

A: Waking up every morning, everything else is non sequitur. "Life is life and fun is fun, but it's all so quiet when the goldfish die."

I'm just going to answer this with: "The opposite, or some opposing variation thereof, of what Dan Rather may have said that the frequency was". Whew.

QUESTION: Is it strange I should change?
