CD Review:
A project that features rap luminaries such as Nate Dogg and Too Short has got to be worth listening too. And it is. But the truth of the matter is that this project holds its own sufficiently, and admirably with an interesting repertoire which aptly demonstrates lyrical skill and personality.
The most commercial and perhaps contemporary track, “Stripper,” combines sensual production with a sexy beat, and features both a Rap and R&B version. It is appropriately aimed at its target audience (strippers and those who worship them) and should do well when used in that context.
From a radio perspective, the highly melodic and memorable “Next Boyfriend,” features the smooth, distinguished vocals of Nate Dogg, which easily makes it a viable street hit.
OG’s who have a preference for straight-ahead lyrics, beats and flavorful melodies will really appreciate this effort.
