CD Review:
From producer and songwriter J.J Crowne comes a debut album that is surely worth a listen, and as songs play in my stereo, I would also recommend more than one. Because his music gets to you, slowly, step by step.
He has worked a long time in the music business and already had a big moment when opened shows for country stars The Mavericks. His debut album seems to summarize his musical and personal experience. He played all instruments and produced the record. Twelve songs, well written and sang with mastery. There is some kind of passion and soul vibrations that come from his tracks. Songs talk about love, happiness, sadness, life, social issues with well thought-out lyrics.
The album is touched by a soft fresh breeze that is his interpretation. His voice can be deep and delicate at the same time. It is like if he passes by his songs and brushes them slowly with his passion and deep sensibility to make them his personal songs at the end. Songs like “I can be the wind” and “Toy soldiers” show how gifted J.J. Crowne is.
The style is definitely country pop with a touch of jazz. This cd is an uplifting journey through the soul and mind of an experienced songwriter. There is nothing new here, but it is the final result that makes it all special. A really pleasant flight among notes and clouds.
