CD Review:
ChromaDuo is a fantastic musical collaboration made of Tracy Anne Smith and Rob MacDonald, redefining classical guitar standards, and raising the bar very high.
I have the privilege of reviewing five world-première recordings, of which four were written for ChromaDuo.
Simply put: everything I heard blew my mind. The artwork of the CD was already something I have never seen before.
ChromaDuo's ability to lift up "hidden waters" like all of the feelings a human being can feel, but is not even aware of is so rare that I'll say that nobody ever did such a fantastic job!
There was a life before hearing such a masterpiece (such masterpieces) and now there's a life after. It is impossible to repay that!
Not only are the two performers the best guitarists I've ever heard (I must confess that my interest in anything guitar vanished and eventually disappeared years ago) but they are also "catalysts of the soul".
Their playing is beyond just technical pyrotechnics, but they pour themselves entirely in their music, and it really shows.
Each of the pieces played flawlessly bring a broad palette of colours, sounds and emotions, a "tourbillon" in which it is easy to lose oneself.
I really encourage you to check out ChromaDuo's website, on which you can find all the information about their touring dates. It has to be experienced live, engaging with the performers!
