Artist: LaCedille
Album: "Vu Du Large"
CD Review:
Genre: Hip-Hop Sounds Like: ? Technical Grade: 9 Production/Musicianship Grade: 9 Commercial Value: 8 Overall Talent Level: 8 Songwriting Skills: 8 Performance Skill: 8 Best Songs: Dyslexie, Empreintes, Harmonie, Lomaki Faleco Weakness: ? CD Review: I have no idea of what the songe are about on the project that La Cedille, a seven piece hip-hop band from the UK, sent to me. What I do know is that they observe the "6 Rules of Commercial Music Success" and prove that melody, like love, is a universal language.
This CD is the ideal musical backdrop for any social gathering of Jazz, Neo-Soul, and Hip-hop enthusiasts. It features organic compositions with swirling string and horn sections that add a distinctive flavor to an already unique sound. The stand out track that best captures the full spectrum of their talents and diversity as a band and hip-hop entity is "Harmonie," which fans of the 70s band Heatwave are sure to embrace. For the hip-hop aficionados, a more simplistic, but equally potent offering, is their most commercial track, "Dyslexie" with its pounding beat and in-the-pocket rhymes.
With a project of this quality, you won't need vu du to make people love it.
Advice: Get ready to tour. If you can duplicate the musicianship on this project, that alone will help you to build your audience and bank accounts.
