CD Review – Pete Muller - "More Than This"
By Stacey Board - 04/19/2005 - 09:17 PM EDT

Artist: Pete Muller
CD Review: Piano based singer/songwriter Pete Muller has created a labor of love in “More Than This”.

He is a first rate piano player. The arrangements are some added background vocals and gentle instrumentation. He has assembled seasoned players that add to his sound while never overtaking the song.

The songs cover various topics. Muller has some great imagery In his lyrics; “Fingertip dancing on a whiskey bottle stain/Walking outside looking for a hole in the rain”.

The only element that goes astray is Muller’s singing. His voice is not his strongest talent, but he definitely pours his heart into every note that he sings. He also covers one of my favorite songs ever, “Naïve Melody” by David Byrne.
