We all have something to say, but a lyrical person has a gift for phrasing things in an unconventional way. Mali Woods, who is from Sunny Los Angeles, California, is such a person.
The hypnotic lead single from her second CD would make most creative writing teachers proud. It's a neo-soul/r&b/avant garde production that she uses as a sheet of paper to write and perform her pensive lyrics - which are her greatest talent and the feature of this song. Mali's mature vocals benefit from well-constructed chord progressions that drive the track forward into what sounds more like religious chanting than a chorus, but it's equally as effective because it sticks...even if the song ends abruptly and you don't know what it's about.
Advice: Get your producer to finish this song. It has a lot of commercial potential.
