CD REVIEW: Tom Hamilton - Groove Train
By Kathy Brackley - 09/18/2004 - 07:51 PM EDT

Artist: Tom Hamilton
Album: Groove Train
CD Review: Recorded in the Portugal countryside, this easy listening instrumental release contains an array of rhythms. Groove Train features 18 tracks with blues, bossa, folk and latin jazz influences.

With Hamilton on acoustic guitar backed by ambient synthesizers, the release provides the listener with a backdrop for relaxation.

Pictured on the cover is a train which was build by Hamilton's grandfather and as Tom puts it "are representative of what the project is about".

On the production side of things, I would have liked to hear Tom's playing more clearly and the synthesizers less but overall Groove Train is a good rainy day easy listening kind of CD.
