Artist: Ele_K Album: “Ele_K” CD Review:
I was very impressed with this CD. It's a lovely collection of interesting melodies and images sung with an appealing voice. Vocally and stylistically Ele_K sounds tremendously like Mira or mellow Bjork.
The songs are atmospheric and rich with shifting melodies and poetic lyrics. The instrumentation is largely electric guitars, keyboards, bass and drums with some horns and glockenspiel. They create kind of a hypnotic groove and swirl around the vocals. On the second half of the 12 track CD, the songs seem to get more edgy. Tracks like “Its OK” and “Care About” have more bite than longing. I enjoyed each one of the songs.
There is masterful production throughout. Ele’s voice stands up front which allows you to follow her around the songs as their stories and melodies meander and unwind. It's quite impressive! http://www.fusion3.com
