Artist: Tony Adamo Album: a simple sampler CD Review:
This sampler CD, a 3-song intro in Adamo's CD to be released later this year, carries a very laid-back vibe throughout. This is music to relax to and let yourself feel intimate with. The first song "Ecstasy" has Adamo's baritone singing "Let's groove, I'll take you where you need to be, Right to ecstasy." My favorite things here are the bass, guitar and some real pretty background vocals. Adamo works best on Ecstasy, where his baritone really glides along the groove.
The next song, "Passport for Passion" follows similar adult r&b territory. The final song "No Strings Attached" has a cool horn section thrown in. It adds a nice dimension and really lifts the song to new heights. There is some really good stuff here; the grooves are tight and the songs are pleasing enough. However the one suggestion I would make is for Adamo to beef up his vocals a bit. Let himself flow with the groove a bit more. Overall, a nice intro to Adamo's music and it will be nice to see what he delivers on his full-length release.
