CD Review:
Genre: R&B Sounds Like: Goapele/Beyonce Technical Grade: 9 Production/Musicianship Grade: 9 Commercial Value: 9 Overall Talent Level: 9 Songwriting Skills: 9 Performance Skill: 9 Best Songs: CD Single Weakness: ? CD Review: Aria, who is a singer/songwriter, from Chicago via Berkeley, California, was labeled a "Rising Star" at U.C. Santa Cruz, were she graduated with a B.A. in Sociology. She put her talents and her degree to good use in articulating the social situation in the dating scene with her mid-tempo song, "Make Me Stay," which echoes many of the fears and concerns that women have about getting into a relationship with Mr. Wrong.
It is by far, one of the most flavorful r&b tracks that I have heard all year (2005). Aria's passionate and distinctive vocals take it to a competitive level, enabling it to hold its own against the chart-topping divas of today. It also benefits from infectious melody lines that juxtapose flirtatious piano parts which are cleverly woven throughout the song. The lyrical content is fresh, the vocal delivery is sincere, and the production is fortified. This song will resonate with progressive women who are sincerely looking for Mr. Right, and industry professionals who are looking for the next Keisha Cole, or Tiearra Marie.
Advice: Get this song placed! Compilation, soundtrack, or television shows. It MUST be heard!
