CD REVIEW: The Boogie Men – “A Thing Of Bootie”
By Stacey Board - 02/22/2004 - 05:22 PM EST

Artist: The Boogie Men
Album: “A Thing Of Bootie”
CD Review: If you have been sitting around lamenting “Where DID those guys from Wild Cherry GO after writing Play That Funky Music White Boy?” then your prayers have been answered.

The Boogie Men are hitting you with the funk shtick until you either dance or die. Or dance until you die. Or ask to be killed.

This is extremely tongue in cheek funk that you will either love or not. But isn’t that how funk works? You either got the groove, or you don’t. The players are fully qualified and their arrangements are fun and interesting. Every song is danceable so this could very well be your favorite new party CD.
