Artist: Band: Mercy’s Web Album: “Callasa” CD Review:
These guys kind of remind me of Green Day. They have all the ‘alternative’ type dressing in the window, but they actually are a very good pop band.
In other words, there are two guitars, drums and bass. They are heavy on the guitars at times and all play with lots of high energy, some angst and some anger.
But there is also interesting melody and song structure. There is better than average singing where you can actually understand the words. They know how to use dynamics in their arrangements. I would bet they are a really fun band to see live.
This isn’t a bunch of punks sitting around the garage. Like Green Day, they can’t help themselves, they write sophisticated songs and play them really well. “Callasa” is a 15 song collection of some very well written and played alternative pop.
