Artist: Embodyment Album: “Songs For The Living” CD Review:
“Songs for the Living” are well written, skillfully played Christian rock songs, with the muscle and polished melodic sound to stand up next to anything on the radio right now. Regardless of your interpretation of the lyrical content, Embodyment successfully creates a strong, passionate sound.
Unfortunately, my computer wasn’t able to connect properly to their website to read over lyrics so I can't make any specific comments on them.
Christian rock to me is one of the more interesting subsets of rock because it seems that these artists are less afraid of taking creative chances than the standard ‘alternative’ rockers are at the moment. These guys are writing and playing strong songs that are full of tight energy and feeling. But they are also a bit unique to the ear because of subtle little unpredictable shifts in melody and rhythm.
Embodyment has a solid, full professional sound on this CD put together by talented writers and players.
