CD REVIEW: Tony Adamo - "Dance Of Love"
By Gian F - 10/30/2002 - 12:11 AM EST

Artist: Tony Adamo
Album: "Dance Of Love"
CD Review: Grade Scale 1 low to 10 high

Genre: Jazz/AC
Sounds Like: Larry Graham
Technical Grade: 6
Production/Musicianship Grade: 6
Commercial Value: 5
Overall Talent Level: 6
Songwriting Skills: 6
Performance Skill: 6
Best Songs: Live For Your Love
Weakness: Too laid back
CD Review: Tony has succeeded in creating a nice, easy listening, romantic CD. What he has failed to do is introduce any fresh ideas or interesting perspectives. The lyrical content of this LP is just as laid back and conservative as Tony's vocal performance which is sometimes reminiscent - but less powerful and precise - as Larry Graham. Tony does have a nice tone and a good range which doesn't get worked enough. If he had used it more, it would have prevented some of the songs from having that Las Vegas lounge singer feel to them.

Advice: Open up Tony! Show us what you got! Take some risks and be more aggresive. It will help to maintain the interest (and attention) of your audience. There is often a thin line between easy listening and boring...you almost crossed it.
